My Engineering College

As you know we passed out from SATI Vidisha, Samrat Ashok Technological Institute, Vidisha. Its situated near Bhopal and just 60 kms North to it. Its one of the oldest Engineering Colleges of MP. Infact it was inaugurated by Late Prime Minister Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru. It is affiliated to Barkatullah University, Bhopal. We used to have stiff competition with Regional Engineering College (MACT), Bhopal, because at that time there were only three colleges in Bhopal University and only our college and MACT had Mechanical Engineering Branch.. so we were in direct competition with them. Though MACT is one of the finest Engineering Colleges of India.. we did not lag behind much in infrastructure.. rather we had better facilities but the only drawback was the location of the College, Vidisha is not a big city at any scale. Our college was ranked fourth in architectural design in the year 1995.

We used to go by the train in the morning and come back to Bhopal in the evening. We hardly stayed there, even during exams we would just go to take the papers. Though it was not as easy as it may sound.. to go by train at 8 in the morning and attend the college for grueling 7 hours at stretch and then come back home at 8 in the night was really a hectic job. but we even enjoyed that because we all used to get along very well with each other and enjoyed being together so much that place hardly mattered..
